LEAN IN MISSION

We help women achieve their ambitions and work to create equal world

Globally, over 2.7 billion women are legally restricted from having the same choice of jobs as men. Of 189 economies assessed in 2018, 104 economies still have laws preventing women from working in specific jobs. While at work, gender pay gap affects women throughout their careers. On an average, women in Australia are paid 16% less than men.

At Lean In Melbourne we believe that an equal world is an enabled world for all to thrive. Our approach is to Elevate, Engage and Empower women to achieve their ambitions and work together to create an equitable world. We connect women from all walks of life, create a safe place to discuss issues that matter and provide tools to combat bias. We also work with companies to launch a company circles program.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

"Women belong in all places where decisions are being made. It shouldn't be that women are the exceptions" - Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Our goal is not only to empower women in the workplace but also to create awareness amongst a larger group of men about existing gender bias in our community. We believe that together we can create an unbiased community.
